kpig, I don't have a dog in this particular hunt, but since I did throw my two cents in on a similarly minor point, I feel totally qualified to chime in here.

Your point is very easy to understand. You've made it quite clear. It's not irrational to hate orange but love it in your mascot. It's absurdly compartmentalized, but not irrational. It IS irrational, however, on the basis that EVERY sports fan hates SOMETHING about SOMEBODY in sports. Feel free to hate whatever you like but don't forget that there's plenty of fan hate to go around. You want the operators of this message board to react to your hatred of orange? Fine. Pick a color that NO ONE ELSE ON THIS BOARD will hate. What'll that get us? Black and white? Puce? Mauve?

Now, you'll probably say that not enough of us really hate colors like Memphis hates orange. Maybe, maybe not. But the point stands: this board has to suit a lot of people. Trying to cater to everyone's needs is impossible, and can be an awkward precedent for the Admins.
