if you haven't figured that out by now even with all the comments on this board about it......then i am not wasting my time with you because that topic is a freaking essay.

and no i am still pinning your rice disdain on your UH homerism.

There is nothing to figure out. There is not one example of a school getting into the P5 based on academics, and to be fair in spite of it as well. It does not factor in either way.

Let’s look at the schools that have been elevated since the inception of the BCS and now the P5 era.

Utah: They are not AAU, they are #121 in the US News that people like to quote, #143 in Forbes. Basically a good academic school but they didn’t get in because they were good on the academic front. Look to their football and really (in my opinion) Hatch's threat to have congressional hearings there might have been a lawsuit involved but I could be wrong. That threat died real quick when Utah was invited.

TCU: They are not AAU, #82 in the US News, #245 in Forbes. I would say that works out to about the same give or take profile as Utah when averaged out (132 vs 164). Again good but not great academics. Look at TCU's football program and the desperation of the B12 at the time they were invited.

Louisville: #161 in Us News, and #445 in Forbes. Again look at their athletic programs for the reason they were added not academics.

The proof is in the pudding. Athletic success, Ratings, fan support, and in one case congressional pressure are why schools are added not academics.

Do you think anyone in the SEC really cares that they are looked down academically when it comes to athletics? Which all the P5 is a consortium of likeminded athletic programs.
