The truth about rep points.

1. Some boards hand them out like candy.

2. Some boards are tough to earn one on.

3. We have some posters who might not be that good but they have amassed a large amount due to a huge amount of total posts.

4. We have others who are great posters who earn very few because the truth isn't always popular.

5. We have most who get rep from their buddies and vice versa.

6. We have others who give large quantities of rep points so they can take them back when they get ticked.

So rep points are basically meaningless. They really just mean somebody has been here a little while and posted way too much, or been here a long long time.

If used appropriately (which they seldom are) they can be a good indication of the quality of posts given by a person. But most times they mean nothing.

So take it with a grain of salt.
