Hasn't every FBS conference kind of denied y'all though? I think y'all would be a good add though.

The MAC has been at 12 or more for some time now. They haven't had a reason to expand and by effectively kicking out UMass (inviting them knowing they would decline and end up independent), they have no reason to expand over 12. CUSA is already past 12 and has no reason to expand. Liberty was a candidate but the conference went other directions pretty early in discussions (as far as I know).

The Sun Belt seemed to reluctantly look at Liberty. They effectively held their noses towards Liberty and even used Liberty as a pawn to try to get JMU to accept an invitation. The Sun Belt has acted snobby and too good for Liberty despite being the bottom of the FBS totem pole.

I realize the top part. I just meant that if some other conference thought you were worthy they'd add you regardless of their numbers situation.

I'm curious how the Sun Belt has acted snobby?

I believe the Sun Belt acted snobby because I question whether or not they had any intention of having Liberty as a real candidate or if they were used just to lure JMU. Since JMU gave an emphatic no thanks (or at least a not right now), Liberty has dropped off the radar form the Sun Belt. I only say that because I think the Sun Belt was feigning interest in Liberty to push JMU into accepting an invite and scare them into thinking that if they said no then Liberty would get the slot.

Last year, the Sun Belt chose Coastal Carolina out of a pool that contained Eastern Kentucky and New Mexico State. Liberty has allegedly offered the Sun Belt $10 million to join. Liberty has allegedly applied for membership multiple times over the past years and they don't even get brought up to be voted upon. Liberty is clearly committed to spending money and attempting to improve themselves. Liberty is serious about trying to be the best athletically and academically. The Sun Belt is ignoring a candidate that wants to be there, that has so much to offer, and improves the conference. But Liberty is different so they are ignored.
