Pretty Much. Unusual situation for Swansea. Since Chelsea came in so early to declare interest, we never really gained traction with signing him to an extension. Once that happened, it meant either letting him play out the year here, knowing he could sign a pre contract with another club in January and leave for free, or selling him for the best profit they could

In the end, 15 million allows Swansea to make a small profit, and allows the club to reconcile the massive amount of debt we managed to accrue last year while barely staying in the league.

It's not the normal way you do things, but by almost all accounts, we had a pretty good transfer window and still walked away with a 25 million dollar profit in our transfer dealings. Which will make Swansea fans unhappy, but probably is the best considering we'd be in serious financial trouble had we been relegated last year.
