Honestly, depth was my first thought. He's a good player but not the caliber of those ahead of him at Liverpool. However, he is much better than their current squad players.

That's a lot of money for depth, especially considering what they've spent already this window on Fabinho (who can play in the middle or at RB) and Keita (who will play in the middle).


CL quality depth cost a lot these days. Quality depth like that will still play 35-40 games a year whether through squad rotation or injuries.
