Watching the games I’d say MLS is more similar on average to league one from what I saw when Wolves were there. Just a couple anecdotal examples, Kevin Doyle went to MLS after he got old and couldn’t even get a start in league one for wolves and banged goals in. Now Jack Price who was at best an average championship midfielder is one of Colorado’s leading players.

Think about Josef Martinez if a striker was scoring a goal a game in the championship they’d be selling for £50 million. The defensive quality is where the largest difference between the leagues is I’d say.

I’ve barely ever seen any Liga MX matches no clue there.

Let me say this again. The bottom half of the Championship is no better than the average MLS team.

Sunderland, Burton Albion, and Barnsley were no better than NY Red Bulls last year and would've been boatraced by Toronto, Atlanta or NYCFC.

Would Toronto, Atlanta or NYCFC been promoted? Unlikely, but they wouldn't have been relegated either.

Monterrey, Tigres, and Club America would've been in the promotion battle in the Championship last year.

I’ve watched Atlanta United 4 times this year. Wolves (and Boro, Leeds, etc...) would put them to the sword. Top of the MLS would be lower Mid-Table in the championship.

While you’re talking about NYRB let’s talk about BWP. His best year ever in England he scored 22 in 42 games in League One. His second best year was 13 in 17 in League One. He had no other years with 10 goals in league play. His best year in the championship was 8 goals in 39. The year he left for MLS he had 1 goal in 19 in the championship. His first full year in MLS he had 27 goals in 32. He’s scoring a goal every 1.5 games in the MLS past his prime. He had a goal every 3.5 games in England and a goal every 5.4 games in the championship.

That same Red Bulls team also had 2 players that had UEFA Champions League experience and a Copa Libertadores champion plus a player thats about to complete a multimillion euro transfer to the Bundesliga.

As I said, I don't think that the average MLS team could compete with Wolves last year. I don't understand where you think I am saying that. What I am saying is that they aren't any worse than Burton Albion or Sunderland last year.

Atlanta's roster last year was no worse QPR or Ipswich Towns's roster last year.

You said bottom half of championship quality is akin to average MLS so I would assume you are saying the top MLS teams would be near the quality of championship playoff sides. And having seen both types of teams play I do not agree at all.

Saying Burton Albion were similar to an average MLS team may be fair but they are not an average bottom half championship team. Sunderland were not as poor they got a bit unlucky with results and lost Grabban in January. They just had a lot of turmoil. But they would be closer to a average MLS side I agree.

I don’t know the individual players on either Atlanta or QPR or Ipswich rosters well enough to put them side by side and compare them; however, having seen all three teams play last year I think QPR and Ipswich would be the better sides. Completely different styles of soccerl though.

I actually watched most of a Liga MX game today between Leon and Tijuana two weaker Liga MX sides I believe based on the commentators. It looked much more like a playoff level championship game to me than the MLS.

You completely ignored BWP’s goal scoring record. It’s pretty damning. And again nobody but world class players playing for top European clubs would score a goal a game in the championship like Josef Martinez in the MLS. At the very least you have to admit that MLS defending is at best League One quality.

I don't even know if I'd consider him the best example either..

Adama Diomande's scoring record:

Tippeligaen (1st Norway): 5 seasons, 70 matches, 32 goals (Goal in Every 2 games)
Adeccoligaen (2nd Norway): 1 season, 24 matches, 12 goals (Goal in Every 2 games)
2 Divisjon (3rd Norway): 2 seasons, 22 matches, 12 goals (Goal in Every 2 games)
Belarusian Premier League: 1 seasons, 23 matches, 3 goals (Goal in Every 8 games)
English Premier League: 1 season, 22 matches, 2 goals (Goal in Every 11 games)
English Championship: 2 seasons, 27 matches, 4 goals (Goal in Every 7 games)

MLS (this season): 9 matches, 9 goals (GOAL IN EVERY SINGLE GAME)

Dude was a borderline scrub everywhere else he plays then turns in a goal per game stretch coming to MLS at age 29? Essentially this shows that his attacking abilities/the defensive talent are at a Norwegian level, which is the 29th ranked European League based on UEFA Coefficient
