A little research will show you Wider has had to dismiss any number of low character players. It comes with a higher number of scholarships and a coach trying to keep fans, Ad's and Presidents happy, not to mention his own job.
Time will tell if you can be truly competitive at the FBS level with choir boys. It looks on the surface you have not really dominated the Big South, so why do you think things will be different now?
Don't let reality upset you
Upset? Who's upset? Liberty is finally moving up to FBS, they just released their schedule which looks impressive despite the short time that it took to make it, and our stadium is going to be expanded anywhere between 25,000 and 35,000 within a short time frame.
Liberty has taken and will take character risks before. Liberty's general students are such character risks as well. LU believes in second chances and gives people the benefit of the doubt whether right or wrong. Sometimes it works out, other times it doesn't. I don't expect that to change for our students or student-athletes.
That's what you have to watch out for. Not saying it'll happen, but the pressure to produce can cause erosion in principles. Jr. strikes me as exactly the kind of person who will be susceptible to turning a blind eye to problems if it means winning more. He's shown that willingness by hiring McCaw and his willingness to snuggle up to one of the most immoral, low character men in America.
