RE: An Analysis of TV OTT Platforms
Comcast has released a new product called Instant TV. No HD box required which does save on the power bill. The IPTV requires a way to get it on your Television. Screen mirroring, Roku type devices or smart TV is required.

The intro price is 39.99 for 12 months for IPTV and Internet then it balloons to 61.95 for the performance internet plus 10.00 base price for the internet TV (71.95). Free HD service. Expect equipment and taxes to run about another 30 dollars.

Then its possible to add skinny bundles. The base package only includes 10 channels but add-ons are possible.

Kids and Family pack $10.00-Cartoon Network, Disney Channel, Freeform, National Geographic, nickelodeon, sprout, TLC, Hallmark, Inspiration channel

Entertainment $15.00-A&E, AMC, Animal Planet, BET, Bravo, Comedy Central, Discovery Channel, E!, Food Network, FX, HGTV, History, Lifetime, OWN, SYFY, TBS, TNT, TV One, USA, VH-1, Hallmark Movie and mysteries, LMN, Movie Plex

Sports & News $35.00-CNBC, CNN, ESPN, ESPN2, Fox Business, Fox News, FS1, NBC Golf, MSNBC, NBC-SN, NFL Network, Regional Sports Network.

Premium Channels:

HBO $15.00-This is the standard rate.
Starz $12.00-Also at the standard rate.
Streampix $4.99 more a month

The best thing about this offering is they give you in the packages some channels that you might have to go up to their $70 dollar double play normally to get in their entertainment pack.

Sports and News at $35 dollars and no ESPNU or CBS Sports Net is real limited. Total package cost with the base plus Sports & News is $75 a month. At that price might as well just go for the $79.99 Standard 125+ cable package which includes everything in the sports and news plus kids and entertainment.

The real price to add HBO just by itself is $33 dollars. $10 dollars for the IPTV, $8 dollars for the broadcast fee and $15 for HBO. Add the modem rental in for another $11 so its $74 dollars for stand alone HBO and basic internet.
