Basically, the black lines were rivalries that are huge for a school. The blue ones are ones that were important to play and will be missed when not played. The green ones were ones were trophies exist and/or there is some rivalry aspects and which would be good to play every year, but are not necessary.

Nebraska, Maryland, and Rutgers have slowly been integrated since then. I would draw a green line between Nebraska and Wisconsin and probably Rutgers and Maryland.

From a personal standpoint with football, I love the Illinois game as it is our only trophy game and once (long ago) was even a season ending game. We played them every year until the conference expanded to 11. The Wisconsin game has been the one that has probably had me most nervous over the years. The Penn State game is probably the closest one to a 2nd rivalry though due to proximity, divisional alignment, etc

Now if we my personal order for Ohio State rivalries are the following for basketball:
1. Michigan (regardless of sport they are big).
2. Wisconsin (not sure how Ohio State fans would rank on the whole, but I got into it the sport with them seeming to always be a big game).

That is a good representation of the rivalries. I would agree with putting the green line between UMD & RU for football. If basketball is taken into account I'd add a green line from UMD to MSU.

On a semi-related note. I feel like the Big Ten has done a really good job integrating Maryland and making them feel welcome. I think they've learned a lot since bringing PSU aboard.

At the end of the day, I think RU/Md will become a bigger rivalry than either will have with State Penn.

Doubt it, Rutgers fans are out for blood when they face State Penn. They are the new (1990s) Syracuse for us, the fans are douchebags and delusional (not about the quality of their team but of their own past), and they have been stealing our state's top talents (until the day when Schiano started taking over both NJ and NY in the 2000s). Maryland has been like UConn for us, mired in the same mediocrity and occasionally rising above us but usually not in the end. Ohio State is our new West Virginia, a rival without the hatred, and hopefully we can eventually have epic showdowns with them.
