Are there other "retreads" we can get? Looking at those available the only ones that I would be impressed with is Andy Kennedy or maybe Fox from Georgia, but again, I don't think we will get those guys. By all means we should be reaching out to these guys and making them say no but I think ultimately they will. But names like Patino, JTIII, etc. I'm afraid are pipe dreams, they're not coming to ECU.

I hope they exhaust every candidate they want before hiring dooley. You very well may be right that he is the best you can land but if I were an ECU booster i would want every other coach on my wish list to turn me down before deciding dooley is the man. But, after thinking about it and reading all of the ECU opinions, itis good that Dooley is seen as the floor. If thats what you settle for, he is an upgrade.

I would suspect from Wichita fans it has to do with his time in Kansas. The reality is he has been a candidate and in some cases a front runner for jobs since he has gotten to FGCU. From reports I've read, he is very selective and carries a lot of demands which is why he has stayed at FGCU so far. It sounds like the same is true with the ECU situation, I think he will only make the move if we commit serious resources for assistants as well as recruiting (which we better be willing to do anyway). I keep looking at the recruits he has lined up to go to an A-Sun school and am baffled, I would love to see what he can recruit to an AAC school. I just think his blue collar "I'm going to outwork you " persona is a good fit for ECU.

He told FGCU he would coach however they wanted him to in order to get that job. That’s not exactly a lot of demands.

So what if he did, we now have a 5 year track record of him winning. He also demonstrated he could recruit high level kids at ECU even when we were in the CAA. I can't imagine what he could do with the AAC.
