That being said, because most schools are playing on Saturday the "good officials" get sent to the games involving the power programs. And the rest get sent to the less fortunate conferences. Sometimes we get good crews on Thursdays, because most power conferences don't play on that day, but contrast is stark on Saturdays.

Surely it is possible to have some sort of ramification for this type of behavior by an official - at the least, at NCAA wide level.

It may not be his style -- and this is if course said with the benefit of hindsight -- but this may have been an appropriate moment for Konkol to get himself a technical, if not also tossed.

Totally agree but our coach is a very timid guy...
