I suspect you would be part of a very small minority of fans. I also suspect that no current FBS schools would join your movement (they could leave today if they wanted to).

Essentially, they would be following the Ivy League's approach, except most don't have the huge endowments that enable the Ivies to have athletics with little to no outside revenues to fund them.

Right now, the only reason most D-I schools get to compete against the major conferences is NCAA membership. The power conferences, once freed from the NCAA, no longer would have any real need to include, and share revenues with, between 250 and 300 schools they have little to no affinity with. For most of those schools, athletics will cease to be a marketing arm for their schools, and will be conducted for their own sake if at all.

Maybe pure amateur athletics for its own sake is an admirable thing. I just doubt you would have that many takers from among schools that
are already struggling financially.

Only time will tell, I think in the next 4 or 5 years a lot will change, p5 will be in a position to split off first leaving the rest to decide what to do

Prepare for it. Maybe even hope for it. But don’t make the first move. Let the ESPN 5 leave the NCAA/College Athletics and become a semi pro league much like the NBA D league or minor league baseball. Us college sports fans will continue following college sports.

yeah, that’s what Iam thinking too, wait and let the p5 make the first move, it will be a more difficult for the p5 to make a complete split, it will be a lot easier for the g5 conferences to split

By the way, expect one big azz anti-trust law suit. The G5 wont have a thing to lose at that point.
