Cal Baptists is an absolute HELL NO from the WCC. If you think that school is anything like the Jesuit and other order schools or the blood bloods of UOP you are seriously mistaken. They also average a whopping 736 fans per basketball game. Seattle is terrible at 1404, but still double CBU. Also CBU is transitioning from D-II, and if SU transitioning was not good enough, then no way is CBU good enough.

That suggestion shows a fundamental misunderstand of how CBU is perceived. There is no way they are getting in the WCC for at least two decades. Grand Canyon is far ahead of them.

The WCC has not even been looking for a replacement. And when they added BYU they took two full years to find a 10th, UOP. They are in no rush to add a mouth to meager revenues with. I cannot see BYU or St. Mary's possibly agreeing to bring in a low performing program without top facilities. When you look it over that says SU would be in the "not at this time" category. DU hasn't done much, but has the infrastructure and stature. GCU lacks the institutional fit but brings the athletic potential. If the WCC wanted to move quickly GCU would far and away be the choice as the one that helps the league most today. But institutional issues put them in the "check back in a couple years when you have that sorted" category. Logic says only DU could be added now, but is scheduling inconvenience alone enough to make such a move today? probably not.

Nobody checks off all the boxes, each has a question mark or two. The WCC will take a couple years to fill it, and only when they are sold on the schools.
