WELL DESERVED!

04-bow 04-bow 04-bow 04-bow

Excited about the prospect of 3 more years of this young man, and hopefully a coach who can help him grow!

I'm excited for ECU to get a new coach. With the right hire, it's very possible to get out of that ~300 level basement next year. In a couple years, they could be making some serious noise.

their 300 rpi is self imposed..their schedule is that bad.. they win enough conference games to be top 200 every year but they schedule so horribly every year

I mean, if your trying to build a winning culture, sometimes you have to schedule extremely horrible.

Houston in the 2015-16 season won 22 games but had a Kenpom SOS in the NON con of #350. Only 2 teams were worse. Then last year Houston had a Non Con SOS of #250 and this year its #246.

When they can start going undefeated or or 10-2 in their ****** non league schedule, then you work on upping the competition. But you need to build confidence and build a winning culture. Sometimes you do that on the backs of the worst teams in basketball.

you are always all numbers ..
houston 15 schedule was bad but thats because Georgetown backed out, no one would invite us to a good preseason tourney and our projected great games were flops (lsu with ben simmons and the otther 5 star was supposed to be amazing when it was scheduled)

last year we had lsu, arkansas, harvard, vermont..if we had been invited to a respectable preseason tourney, our schedule last year would have been good

you are mixing up our situation with ecu's ..houston has a hard time scheduling anyone, even this season we got a barely passable tournament .. sampson publicly says he has been trying to improve the schedule but its been difficult

ecu purposely had horrific schedules...the had 1 p5 who was horrifc....they had 1 decent rpi game in radford who was horrible last year, that lucked into being decent this year...they intentionally scheduled a bunch of games with all 300 rpi teams who have no chance of being good

houston schedules teams like lsu/rhode island/st louis. who are projected good but turn out horrible and for some reason cant get an invite to a good preseason tourney (likely attendance)
dont act like we were purposely building trash schedules...something ecu tries to do..there are better buy games than what they do

but to your point i agree to an extent, but within a range, you schedule to your talent but you never over schedule or under schedule..no matter how bad it is it shouldnt go below a certain point, and should be harder than a certain point
