To a degree, yes. The added bonus is Penny will bring in top 5-10 classes. He's not even the coach and already we've heard that Anfernee Simons and Shareef O'Neal could be in play. The biggest key to this working or not is who is on the staff. Hire a veteran former head coach as top asst and away we go.

While i think that's highly probable .... No offense ... Memphis has a lot of talkers ... I'll believe those guys coming when they sign ...

I remember also hearing from multiple outlets that it was a done deal to bring Marshall in before they got Tubby.

That is inaccurate if I remember correctly. There were no credible sources that said Marshall was a "done deal." Gary Parrish reported that Memphis had contacted Marshall/his reps and had talked details of the job. All of which was true. But he was never considered a done deal.

The people that were reporting it were saying the sources were credible ... maybe they aren't credible anymore ... My point still stands. Memphis has a lot of talkers.

I remember it being a bunch of idiots on a message board saying that stuff. But no media reports beyond Parrish stating there had been contact.
