when you are bringing in the nations top class, its realistic to think top 5..everyone expects duke to be top 1 next year from their class alone

if it happens then it happens but you can never expect that 2 years out. Memphis fans get bagged for unrealistic expectations but really our expectations are quite sane:

NCAA tourney 4-5 years every decade
1-2 Sweet 16s every decade
1 Final Four every 20 years or so.
Being able to recruit the city.

Those aren't unrealistic. Anything above that and we are ecstatic. Of course, every fanbase has crazies that want outcomes that just can't happen....and I grant we have more than our fairshare....but most of our fans would be happy with the above outcomes.

Pastner went to the tourney 4 times in 8 years, a slightly better rate than the 4-5 years every decade, and he got run out of town.
