if it happens then it happens but you can never expect that 2 years out. Memphis fans get bagged for unrealistic expectations but really our expectations are quite sane:

1 Final Four every 20 years or so.

Those aren't unrealistic. Anything above that and we are ecstatic. Of course, every fanbase has crazies that want outcomes that just can't happen....and I grant we have more than our fairshare....but most of our fans would be happy with the above outcomes.

tubby is only year 2, where he had drastic improvements from year 1, and a team he built is top 15 right now

if these were the expectations your attendance isn't anywhere remotely as bad as its become ...
you are trying to make it seem like memphis fans will have sensible expectations with penny when you dont have sensible expectations with tubby ...

are we going to pretend like the league wasnt weaker last year? you can argue numbers all you want. but you tched most memphis games and you know this team is way better than last years

tulane had a similar finish and coference record last year, you could use that to say they didnt improve much but we both know the reality that tulane is worlds better than last year

We played a weaker conference schedule this season that last season. Only got WSU and Houston once.
