Lets have Penny recruit a roster and Tubby scour the juco's he can "coach up" and see which one puts a more talented and better team on the court.

How's that just for starters?

Well ... as of right now ... Tubby has more national championships as a D1 coach than Penny has wins as a D1 Coach

This is the root of the Tubby argument. They aren't getting ranked in the recruiting. Although Pastner pulled in rnked kids and that didn't stop the downward spiral he creates.

They think Tubby doesn't recruit NCAA talent. Apparently he uses the dark arts, cash payments, and a rabbits foot he rubs every day to magically get his not NCAA talented teams into the NCAA.

They've got it backwards and think a recruiting service guy is better at recognizing talent than the guy whose job is exclusively based on his ability to evaluate talent and fit.

Ol' David Dennison can claim some kid is the next Kobe, Jordan, Shaq and get it completely wrong and declare the same thing next year and sell subscriptions to Memphis fans like candy.

Coach takes 2 guys who don't make it and he plays a year with 11 guys instead of 13. Two years in a row and he's in real trouble. 3 years and he is going to get fired.

Mean while Dennison tracks down one Peg and gets it in the hole and the fan's will never shut up about it. He can literally spend his time playing golf, saying any crazy thing he wants, make tons of money off clueless people, and never be held accountable. Pretty sweet deal.

Gregg Marshall's Final Four team barely registered a blip on the recruiting services front page... and they were good enough for a Final Four, an undefeated season, and a Sweet 16. I have no doubt Tubby is trying to build the program up the right way. I have no idea if he'll have enough energy to reach the top but I bet he would turn the program over in better shape than Pastner did at the end of 4 years.

Speaking of Pastner... how is he any different than Penny with respect to recruiting? Pastner brought loads of talent to Memphis. Does anybody want to bet that Penny is a better coach than Pastner? 03-lmfao

The job is hard people. Cheatin' Calipari ain't comin' back... and Gregg Marshall's are one...in...a...million.
