UConn doesn't have a recruiting problem and wouldn't no matter what league it's in. If you are that's on the coach not the conference. This isn't football NBA players play every where and you don't have to be in a particular conference to have a chance to win.

You won a national championship when many of the kids you're recruiting were locked in to college basketball, late middle school or high school. It's not hard to find good enough players when you can say come play for a national championship and the kid watched you play for one. Those kids don't remember the big east, how many kids that age you know who are entrenched in the conference Dynamics?

Recruiting is about the kids perspective, the things you listed have nothing to do with their perception of the college landscape. UConn didn't move out of the northeast and is one of a hand full of national programs who can boast multiple championships, most in the lifetime of the kids you are recruiting.
