I had worked with both her and Dan Patrick outside the political area, and she is far more sane and sensible than he is. I don't think I've ever voted for a democrat for president, but I've only voted for one republican--Reagan in 1980. I was actually registered as a democrat, but that was so I could vote against Bernie in the 2016 primary. So I've voted for Hillary more times (1) than I've voted for Trump (0). As I said, I'm probably going to follow the rule of, "Libertarian if I can, republican if I must." Not because I like the republicans, but because the enemy of my enemy is my friend. And yes, I think of the current crop of democrats--Schumer, Pelosi, Bernie, Fauxcohontas, Ocasio-Cortez--as enemies.

But according to lad, there is no Democrat you would ever vote for. You must be wrong.

I’m not sure where you got that I suggested Owl#’s (or anyone here) has ever voted Dem. As many have said, the parties have diverged from center (especially on a national level) - which is why I spoke in the present tense, and not the past tense. Perhaps I spoke too broadly and there are some local candidates out there, but generally when we talk about Dems, it feels as if their platforms are more often compared to Marx than anything else, which is definitely hyperbole (I haven’t seen any Dem actually argue for State control of businesses across the board quite yet).

But it’s good to hear that there were some recent Dem candidates that made y’all happy. I’m honestly surprised by that.

Don’t know why you would be surprised. I, fo one, have talked a lot about ir.

But the Webb treatment in 2015-16 shows WH it is unlikely that I could vote for a nominated Democrat. Yo guys won’t nominate a centrist. Like a teenage girl, you run past the good guys as fast as you can to get to a bad guy. Except for Hillary’s meddling, y’all would have nominated Sanders. Then you stand around looking puzzled and ordering why right wingers are not attracted to socialists.

Give me a real choice and I will make it.
