Hey its July 1, 2005 All the "done deals" are in the same shape as the wicked old witch with a bucket of water on her head.
This should be a lesson to all the people that think they have info on all of the MAC stuff and are lacking the same thing the Scarecrow was looking for.
1. If you would have just listened to Wood himself (the great and powerful OZ) He has repeatedly stated what has and has not happened.
2. Wood in published articles said he talked with CUSA,
MVC, and the A-10. He said there was no interest from any of them not even The Great Munchkin Conference (now we are getting posts the MVC is interested. Bullcrap) I will take Wood's word over any
more talking trees.
3. I gave you info a couple weeks ago directly from OZ and even had a copy of his words up on the Haven for just 15 minutes so that the evil internet witches would not have time to copy and paste it over the rainbow.
Those words from Woody OZ said "WKU gave all the info the MAC requested, There is nothing more WKU can do.
and the MAC is in no hurry." (even wearing Ruby Slippers and Chanting "there's no place like MAC, there's no place like MAC. there's no place like MAC won't help.
4. So thats it, WKU is in the great SBC at least 2 more years. Unless a twister comes and moves our campus to a top ten Media market. So I am sure you are all sick of this change of conference nonsense. And I for one (and niether should any of you) will not respond to anymore WKU is going here or there posts on this or any board unless it contains a link to the news release from WKU. (Even though the movie ended in color I will wait until I see WKU news on this tired story in black and white)
5. Look at all the wasted posts for 2 years plus on all of these message boards and for nothing. It was pretty obvious when Temple came in by themselves ,WKU was not comming in at the same time. Even the Lion had
the courage to predict this.
6. One has to wonder though how all of this got started in the first place so long ago with no more substance than it had.
(Maybe it was a rumor started by Anuntie Em)
7. In every other conference move over the past 2 years
You may have heard about a move and then within a month or or two it was officially announced. Nothing like a 2 to 3 year rumor then nothing. Even the Tin Man without a heart could have felt this comming.
8. Of course this would only happen in WKU's case (every other school that changed conferecnces did it in weeks not years) with all of the injuries over the years, and low seeds, folks I think the witches curse is still in place.
9. I care more about Flying Monkeys than what the other members of the SBC think. But they have to be having a good laugh over WKU leaving for a whole year only to have us go nowhere.(After 100's of posts of WKU is going to the MAC on Sun Belt and MAC Boards)
10. WKU may still go somewhere someday but I will beleive it if any only when I see it written of the official WKU sports web site or printed in the Emerald City Newspaper.
11. So when the Talking Trees start to talk again and the FAT man speaks, or the the Falcon flys ,the Golf player said, or the paperwork is late, or the coach said, or my buddy close to the administration commented, put it all in the same story book with the Tin man, the scarecrow and the Munchkins and sent it Barnes and Noble.
P.S. There is still one Munchkin still alive today.
he is 89 years old and lives near St.Augustine Florida.
He was the medical examiner in the movie that sang the Witch was not only "merely dead but most sincerely dead"..... just like this story.
