That was certainly a hard fought game by both teams. The game played out about how I expected though. UVA started off with a slight advantage before VT's OL completely wore down the UVA DL while the VT DL wore down the UVA OL. This game was VERY reminiscent of the 1996 game where...
1996: Game in Blacksburg
2004: Game in Blacksburg
1996: #21 Tiki Barber breaks a long early run, only to be tracked down from behind deep in VT territory. UVA only gets a Field Goal.
2004: #21 Alvin Pearman breaks a long run only be tracked down from behind by Jimmy Williams. UVA gets nothing.
1996: UVA has the upper hand at the half 9-7 only for VT's 310 LB per man line take over the 2nd half.
2004: UVA has the upper hand early in the 2nd half only for VT's 310 LB per man line take over at the end of the game.
1996: At the end of the game, George Welsh shakes Beamer's hand and tells him "You're the best team we've played all year"
2004: At the end of the game, Al Groh shakes Beamer's hand and tells him "You're clearly the best team in the ACC"

Sorry NCAAFtballFan. I know Virginia had a good football team this year. And from what I can tell, Virginia will be a team to be considered a top contender in the ACC in the future. But with Tech in the lead spot, I just had to root for them to beat y'all and go on and hopefully beat Miami next week. :D
