Umm, if you don't think McCants is the best player in the league after his sick performance at NC State (he outplayed Hodge in a duel), then you are blind and have a myopic view of the game of basketball.

Who would be surprised if Deng made a case for best in the ACC?

#9 in Scoring
#7 in Rebounds
#4 in FG %
#10 in Blocked shots

I think he's the only player to be top 10 in each of these categories.

Yea, those stats are in fact true, but it is scary to think that Deng isn't even the best rookie in the ACC.

Top ten in everything but he isnt even number one in anything on his own team. He isnt even the best player on his team let alone the whole conference.

McCants isn't the best player in the league....he has not led his team to victories. I don't care how many points you score, what counts is how many games you win and how well you help your team.

First of all, UNC has 8 conference wins, which is more than Georgia Tech right now. McCants has helped his team win. I don't see any way how you can see Hodge and Duhon more deserving. Their teams have more wins, but that isn't necessarily due as much to the play of those guys as people may think. It is ridiculous that people believe the award has to go to the guy from the best team. It is "player" of the year, not "leader" of the year. Let's face it:
McCants= 03-puke (sick).......no doubt the best individual player in the ACC.e
