My rather lengthy post on this thread made me decide to ask this question. After all...there is a difference between what you think someone will do and what you think they should do...

Send NC and/or Duke packing. 03-razz

But seriously, adding 1 more team would be suicide. The NCAA is not going to change the rule to include teams with "11" schools. If they were going to do that, they would likely lower it to 10.

You're much better off going to a 12 team conference or standing pat.

But what do I know? ... I'm sucking an egg. 03-wink

Less than 24 hours after learning that the ACC was pursuing only Virginia Tech and Miami, Tech's governing board unanimously authorized president Charles M. Steger to negotiate with the ACC.

The school filed papers in Connecticut removing it from the lawsuit against the ACC late Wednesday afternoon, said Virginia Attorney General Jerry Kilgore.

Kilgore said the lawsuit slowed down the process long enough to give ACC officials more time to evaluate Virginia Tech. On Wednesday, conference officials visited the Blacksburg school, and extended an invitation.

"The reason Tech wanted to sue from the beginning was to remain in a strong and viable conference,'' Kilgore said. "Virginia Tech has long wanted to be part of the Atlantic Coast Conference. And that's becoming a reality now.''

It's easy to get twelve but which twelve? Hell, you have Virginia locked up West Virginia is easy but is that what the ACC wants? No way does Miami back out after filing for divorce from the Big East. Right! Thats like telling your wife and her attorney "I didn't mean it honey! Fire your attorney can we will live happily ever after." There were already complaints that MIami was "undefeated" because there are no good teams in the Big East on their level!

As much as I hate Miami the truth is there arent many teams in the country on their level...the only team that comes close IMO is Oklahoma from a talent/potential perspective. Miami wouldnt have lost a game playing in the ACC last year either...The only conference where they would have stood a chance at losing a game is the Big 12. The ACC is indeed a much better football conference than the Big East but Miami is just on another level all together.
