Also, if you average the ranking from the NCAA stats regarding attendance since 1998 you find South Carolina ranked between 12-13 and Clemson ranked between 15-16.

I'd say this confirms my statement made earlier. Clemson and USC both draw VERY WELL attendance wise and should be proud of that fact.

My only dispute was with the comments made about the lack of attendance. That's a gamecock fantasy, not a truth.

I think you have that backwards. It's the truth. I saw on more than one occasion last year where those upper decks were half empty.

Another time, the wife and I were driving home from the mountains and tuned to the CU-Duke game. The taters scored a TD and ROOOOOOOOODDDNNNNNNEY said, "The few people in the stands are starting to get excited."

We draw well, always have, always will, hell even when we went 0-11 we ranked 14th in the country in attendance, which of the past 5 years is the only year you finished above us and you were number 13.

Many times the announced attendace at dead valley would be 75k plus when you could clearly see that there was no more than 60-70k people in that place.

Not a big deal really. I don't care if we have two people in WB, just freakin' win.

So, I get pressured for statistical truth regarding our attendance figures, and when I present the facts from the official NCAA website concerning our attendance, it all of a sudden becomes null and void?

I don't think so.

You can present all the subjective opinions you want to present. Tell us all about how you see empty seats in Death Valley. That's all subjective, qualitative data.

The statistics I provided show concrete, real, valid, and OBJECTIVE truths concerning our attendance figures.

I know it kills you gamecock fans to know that we hold our own in attendance. Gamecock fantasy at its very best! lol

P.S. We do agree on one thing ... just win baby!

Who said it becomes null and void?

It's a case of Fact vs Fiction.

Fiction is the reported attendance.

Fact is CU does not report actual attendance, they report tickets sold.

Fact is there is people on this board that can back me up.

Let's review ...

It is commonplace in NCAA-sanctioned events to report the amount of tickets sold as attendance. The official NCAA website I linked is based on tickets sold. lol That isn't too hard to understand.

I have not missed a Clemson home game since 1987 and I consider those statistics to be pretty darn accurate.

Gamecock fantasy continues ....

Come on pal. I have been to Dead Valley several time and have seen, first hand, those upper decks half empty and the attendance in the box score the next day say 75,000. Wake up my friend.

USC announces ACTUAL attendance, that is ACTUAL people AT the game.

Lose-Lose argument here ...

You guys report attendance like anyone else.

We go by what the NCAA officially tells all of us to do.

The facts, as reported by the NCAA OFFICIAL SITE, suggest that USC and Clemson both have high attendance. (top 15 nationally).

All I can do is present the facts from the NCAA.

Wrong, wrong, wrong!!!!

Sheesh pal. We report ACTUAL ATTENDANCE. The attendance is announced AT the game and is in all of the box scores the next day.

Clemson reports TICKETS SOLD, not ACTUAL ATTENDANCE.

You are using the NCAA. They use TICKETS SOLD. TICKETS SOLD and ACTUAL ATTENDANCE are two completely different animals.

Clemson counts TICKET SOLD as ACTUAL ATTENDANCE thus inflating ACTUAL ATTENDANCE.

This isn't rocket science you know. It's not only fact but it's common sense.

We'll disagree. They announce an "attendance" at each of our games as well.

We're on the same level, but you refuse to admit it.

USC has no way of counting actuals butts in the seats at Williams-Brice. I remember one time, some coot fan tried to convince me that they had turnstiles at WB. lol That was a classic.

Anyway, I'll sum up this entire thread by saying this ...

Clemson and South Carolina have rabid/loyal fans that support their respective schools. Clemson and South Carolina are continually ranked in the top 15 in attendance by the NCAA every year for the last 5 years. Finally, Clemson and South Carolina shoul d be proud of their fans for yje support they give their teams.

You're right, there is no rocket science involved. Both schools are so similar in terms of attendance it isn't even funny. Good day!

:bang:

That's funny.

In my 7 trips to Williams-Brice over the years, I have NEVER gone through a turnstile.

My gamecock buddy at school and gamecock club member who has not missed a So Carolina home game in 17 years has never gone through a turnstile.

This means you are lying or they only have a select FEW turnstiles (which makes for a guess and not an exact amount when it comes to attendance).

Anyway, I stick to my original statement. Clemson and USC east should be proud of their attendance figures. We have some loyal fans in this state.
