Nebraska's new look has official approval.
Coach Frank Solich said Thursday that he's given the OK to design changes for the Nebraska football team's uniforms after receiving a positive response from players.
The Cornhuskers' home jerseys will still be red, but now there will be a bit of white piping down both sides. Road jerseys will be white with a wide, red stripe under the arms and down the side.
White pants will be worn both at home and on the road.
``You go back through the history of Nebraska football, a lot has changed over the years,'' Solich said. ``This probably isn't any more dramatic than some of those changes.''
One thing that isn't changing is the traditional helmet design.
The white helmet with the red ``N'' on the sides and a red stripe down the middle will not be touched.
Solich said there won't be a grand unveiling of the uniforms. Fans will get their first look Aug. 24 when Arizona State visits Lincoln.
