YouGeeAye: Having seen some of what is going on around here lately, I agree with you on some points.

However, saying things like "this BBS sucks" isn't going to win you many points around here. I'm not saying that you have to sugarcoat everything -- when we have problems on the boards, then I think people should point them out. But, some people have put a lot of hard work into these boards... and to show up and make the blanket statement "NCAAbbs sucks" undermines their effort, IMO. You might not like the boards you've been on, but there is some great discussion that takes place on other NCAAbbs boards.

That said, I think some of the people on here -- especially mods -- need to learn to handle criticism better. If you are a mod or admin, it is part of your job to be an ambassador to NCAAbbs. Well, that's the way I see it, at least....

JD - mind if we clone you a few hundred times for mods of boards and poster replacements?

Resign?? WHAT??? I dont think so, but at the same time Im not going to sit here and babysit this board. My kids are here at home, not on this board.
There is a difference between being a moderator and being a babysitter, but when you come to this board you have to think otherwise.
He said this, she said that. BLAH BLAH BLAH!!!
You cant edit this or you cant delete this, why was my post delted and not the next persons??
:crying: :crying: :crying:
At this point its not about being a moderator for your board, its about how other people 'think' you should moderate a board, which to me, is left up to the administrators.
What one person thinks is wrong for the board, another person thinks is right.
If you use your OWN judgement towards what is wrong or right, there will be other posters telling you what they think about your judgement, not that I give a damn, but its the truth.
Now all this talk about whats going on with who slammed Noley and including me in it is wrong.
Why cant people in here do something on their own without bringing another person in it.
To settle this argument ONCE AGAIN, me and Noley talked about what had happend between me and her, NO ONE ELSE. So obviously no one knows what we talked about. They just have a post to read from a while ago that I started to get their facts from.
We talk to each other practically everyday, she understands where Im coming from and she backs me on it 100% and I'm doing the same for her.

I know that it wasn't UGI that attacked Noley. I called Paul out on it on two other posts (and that's who my "That goes double for me" post was intended for). I have no problem with UGI...I've been on his side in all of these ridiculous threads. For the most part, all he's been doing is defending himself. As for Paul and Ms. Nole, well that's another story...

For once I must side with the enemy. I have read almost if not all of UGI posts and I cannot for the for the life of me figure out why almost everyone is on UGI's case. I cannot find anything where he has flamed anyone with only one exception and that person was a UGA fan and not a Nole fan. I did find one post from Noley herself saying that UGI has done nothing to her. Since there seem to be no ill feelings between Noley and UGI why are third parties making those kind of accusations. Let's forget about all the squabbling and just talk what we came here to talk and that is the Sugar Bowl with UGA and FSU. Set personal feelings aside and talk football.
Now I realize that by siding with the "enemy", I am leaving myself open for personal attacks, but whatever will be will be. I really don't care, if anyone makes a personal attack on me, then that is as far as it goes, because they will not get what they are after and that would be a response from me. It will just go in one ear and out the other.
Merry Christmas to you all.

The fundamental problem is we felt as though moderators could use good judgement. That is not so. I'm not saying anybody should be removed as mod or something outlandish, but I am saying the admins should provide the mods with a set of guidelines to use when moderating a board, and that we are doing as I post this.

As for the outside people throwing in their $0.02 - don't bother if it will be a childish insult. Constructive comments like JD's are welcome though.

Couldnt have said it better myself GTS about the 2 cent comments. We have far to many of those on here and thats where alot of the problems start with the posters IMHO.

from Paul: Nah...I don't think that's what either one of them have said.

Lucy...I have written this before...I understand when all
the ACC fans gang up on us. We have dominated the league.

But I have never understood why anyone in the ACC would
want Florida State to lose outside the league...All it does
is make the rest of the league look bad.

YouGeeAye, said as much, it most of his posts. The NCAAbbs
suck...FSU sucks...The ACC sucks...Last time I looked...Wake
Forest was in the ACC.

I think many ACC fans never wanted FSU to join the conference in the first place and still consider them upstarts. For a long time, FSU meant nothing more than another loss in football. Thankfully that is changing, so that a game against FSU is a real contest and no longer just a blowout. This is a definite positive for the ACC. As far as basketball, FSU was competitive their first couple of years in the conference but it has been downhill since then, thus FSU losing respect in the eyes of diehard ACC hoops fans. This could be the year that FSU turns things around and leaves the Les Robinson Play-in Game for 2 other teams. Yet again another positive. What it also may come down to is very similar to why many schools love to "hate" the Tarheels...the bandwagon fan that seems to latch on to a school for no reason other than the team wins, yet this type of fan is the first to desert at any hint of being less than #1. These fans also seem to be the ones who are the most obnoxious in their blind allegiance. FSU has as many of these as the Tarheels (at least Wal-Mart seems to think so in their clothing availability...03-wink). Just some observations...

From Paul: Want to make comments about me, "somewhat Flaming"
Noley...Make 'em. You have no clue as to why I went after
her...NONE! You can suppose, guess, look into a crystal
ball...whatever...but I would bet or have MacPherson bet
for me, that you don't even come close.

I haven't come anywhere near using information that I posses.

Comments such as these do not endear you to the posting public, and in fact make your presence here seem rather suspect. You have just stated an obvious double standard: you have "reasons" for flaming a long-time poster, yet you jump on anyone else who you believe to flame for "no reason". There is either flaming permitted by all, or none, no middle ground. And my personal opinion of someone who would even consider or mention "using information that they posses (sic)" is that this person is a sick & frustrated individual who has no real interest in posting about sports, but rather just to take posting to a personal level, which isn't what these boards are about. If you have issues with a poster, it should be dealt with off the boards, not by flaming that poster or airing dirty laundry on a sports board.

From Paul: But Lucy..."Your silence has been deafening!" I made at least
one subtle remark directed in your direction...and there was
no response. Why?

The only remark I saw you make in my direction on this board (subtly or not) was a nasty insinuation about my reasons for wishing to discuss questions about my alma mater with a potential student. I addressed that comment on that thread yet received no acknowledgement from you as to your being mistaken in your comment. And I thought my silence was actually being requested on this board anyway...03-wink

From Paul: I hate to write for anyone...but Swagger and G&G...have simply
stated...there's a problem...we are working on it...and it ain't gonna
get any better with others coming in here and making the situation
worst.

My promise to Swagger...I will keep the peace. I personally, don't
have a problem with UGI, except for the fact that he's a whiner.
Metro said it best. He starts it...makes the personal attacks...then
complains about the response. I enjoy smack...I'd take it to any
level he desires. Maybe we should have done it in Verbal Assault
or ACC Smack. MsNole moved it there and he complained about
that.

Have you noticed that there is conversation between posters from opposing schools on BBS school boards as well as other prominent boards such as ACCBoards that often degrades into some smacktalk, yet no one wants nor expects it to be moved to a Verbal Assault forum? You don't see posts about "Tarholes", "dookies", and "Weak Florist" being moved anywhere. Why are FSU posters allergic to any posts remotely against them?

From Paul: Want to know why I'm irratated...write me at NolePjd3883@aol.com.
I'll tell you...Then what you do is your business. But, at least you
will know the facts. You may agree or you may disagree...It really
won't matter to either one of us...Perception is Reality.

Just like there is two sides to every story

I don't need to get involved in a smear campaign offboards about anyone. Nor should you be encouraging anything like this. My opinions come from reading what is here as well as reading people through their words & actions. It's what I do in my job & I'm pretty darn good at it. I will continue to contribute my opinions as we move into hoops and baseball. It even looks like I'll be in Winston-Salem on 1/26 to watch Wake & FSU in the Joel. It will be good to see a fine ACC matchup...and watch our freshmen Justin Gray & Eric Williams and my choice for POY, Josh Howard, give a clinic in hoops. :D
