Well when you have the best coaches and get the best players across the board, you should be the best. Even our lower tier teams are competitive. E.G. FSU beat Maryland and Duke the last two years. You don't see Maryland and Duke beating FSU in football that often, at least not yet.

BTW, excellent post!!!

Clemson stunned #1 UNC a couple years ago too. Top to bottom, the ACC is still the top conf. in the country.

I'll tell you the reason why the ACC is better than any other conference in the country. It's because some conferences seem to have great regular seasons and mediocre postseasons (Big 12) and others are the opposite. The ACC has both.

Is it just me or did the ACC have the national championship in 91,92,93, 01 and 02? What's that? 5 out of the last 11 national championships going to an ACC team?  04-bow 04-bow

Plus I think we have had at least 1 team in the Final Four in about 15 of the last 16 seasons. No other conference is even close to that.

I have to plead ignorance when it comes to basketball - I mean I know how the sport is played, I just don't follow it too closely like I do in football and college baseball. But doggone, FSU went and beat Iowa tonight by a score of 80 to 67. That impresses me. Of course, I have no idea how good or bad Iowa is, but I did see on another thread where some of you were speculating that Iowa would beat FSU. So maybe this year, Florida State won't stay in the bottom of the conference. That might be nice for a change... :D

We own everyone else. Hands down. :D

We have legendary programs, storied rivalries, perennial powerhouses, programs on the rise, good upsets, and then there's that whole Final Four thing.

Plus, we consistantly produce/maintain the nation's top players and coaches.

In the words of LL, "Viva la ACC!"
