RE: I'm Thinking About Dropping Netflix, Is Anyone Else?
I doubt I'll drop it but with the Marvell shows falling off the radar and their own content is kind of hit or miss otherwise... And not a lot of "new movies" and the increasingly odd dropping of tv series....

Then again, I doubt I drop it, because there isn't really a better place to check out stuff on the cheap. And I buy a lot of my movies on BR release week if the sale is good enough--which isn't the case lately.... used to you could count on a $5-10 off release week for most titles now you barely get $3 off so there is no real motivation to buy till some hit bargain bins or black friday sales.

(07-17-2018 09:55 PM)Side Show Joe Wrote:  Netflix use to have plenty of good shows to watch. Now it doesn't, Much of the stuff is second rate, and they are slow to add new content, especially quality content. They have few classic movies, and too much liberal leaning content. Yes, I like Stranger Things (although the 2nd season wasn't that good), and Lost in Space is watchable. I'm just not finding enough stuff to keep my interest. Is anyone else having this issue?

I received a gift card for Netflix so I restarted it. They have a lot of options, but this is what I've experienced so far.

I think most of their "original" series are either overrated or just plain suck.

That being said, there are plenty of series you can't get anywhere else and they have a good catalog of shows to "catch up on".

Bodyguard - Intense but slow at times.

Death in Paradise - BBC show. Love it. Good mysteries, beautiful setting, surprisingly funny.

Travelers - Interesting premise. I enjoy the mystery/drams/sci-fi of the whole thing.

Rake - Aussie version. NOT for everyone. I absolutely love it.

Pine Gap - Another Aussie show. Intense, mysterious, very "today's events".

Sabrina - NOT like the old TV series. Shocked how dark & creepy it was. Really liked it though.

Altered Carbon - Odd. Still not sure if it's in a good way.

Also caught up on Lucifer and The Blacklist as well.

Considering the crap that's on TV these days, Netflix isn't a bad option if you like to watch (or binge watch) series.
