The last great Linux barrier to domination of corporate use? Active Directory. And it's coming soon to a Linux near you:
Apparently Redhat is releasing a directory server they got as part of the AOL buyout. They're calling it "the Fedora Directory Server Project."

It is definitely a step in the right direction for them. Open Directory just has never been a good replacement for Microsoft Active Directory Services (ADS). It remains to be seen just how powerful this is, but I like what I read.

First thing I noticed... no managed software setup (yet). I just bought a house and I'm in the middle of ripping down wallpaper, replacing crappy panelboard in the basement with drywall, and a handful of other things. Once I'm through all that I'll have to mess with it.
