Va Polytechnic leads Dook 20-12 early. On a more stunning note, Dook has 2 free throws in the first 10 minutes. In the last meeting, they had 18 in the first 10 mins.

The officiating is starting to "even out," but Duke is only up a point at the break, 36-35.

This was an awesome win for VA Tech -- puts them back in the running for an NCAA bid.

Does Duke scare anyone in the NCAA tournament? Because they don't scare me at all. They'll make it no further than the Elite Eight, and that's a stretch.

I totally agree, GDawgs. Get 'em on a neutral floor (read: away from Charlotte, Raleigh, Greensboro, etc where they nearly always get to play their 1st/2nd rd games) along with some neutral officials, and they're definitely ripe upset bait for a 12 or 13 seed.

I don't think any of us Duke fans, at least myself and Nate, thought we were Final Four material to begin with. Before these losses to WF, Maryland, and VT, I had a little hope, but now their lack of depth is really starting to show.
I quite frankly didn't expect them to be as good as 18-4 right now.

I guess that COY nod is out the window. After the baptists beat them on sunday so is a #1 or #2 seed in the NCAA's. Heck, VPI's RPI is 187. VMI beat Tech this year.

And as recently as last week, VMI was ranked 326th out of 326 teams in the RPI poll. That, ladies and gentlemen, is the definition of bad.
