<span style='font-size:21pt;line-height:100%'>Man killed over 'wedgie', lawyers say</span>

Associated Press
May 25, 2004

Prosecutors and defense lawyers say Jonathan Freel's death was a result of a "wedgie" prank gone bad.

The 35-year-old was among a group of men horsing around at a sports bar when he was stabbed in April 2003.

Michael Keith Williams is accused of slaying Freel. The reason, prosecutors say, is because he was offended when Freel wedgied a friend of his. Williams is claiming self defense. Freel was 6-foot-2, 300 pounds.

Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney Kimberly Boyer told jurors that Freel and several friends had been giving each other wedgies.

Freel apparently gave the man a wedgie, ripping the man's underwear clean off his body. To compensate, Freel handed him a 20-dollar bill.
