And UNC finished above us?!?! What sense does that make? We had one more win than they did, we won the ACC Tourney, and we both went out in the same round of the Big Dance...I don't mind a ranking of 24th, but why the hexagon are they rated higher than we are?

Eh, we'll see what it all means next year. About 6 months until Midnight Madness!!!

We lost to the NCAA runner-up by a last-second shot in the ACC tourney. Could've been a different tourney if we'd won that one.

(Coulda/woulda/shoulda, I know....)

We had a better regular season than Maryland. But, they got hot for three days in March. And, actually, we didn't play that badly down the stretch. We had a close loss at dook (#2), close loss to a hot Tech team (#3), and close loss to a top-10 Texas team. All those losses were by 5 or less, I believe.

I think the two teams were pretty even, myself. I wouldn't have had a problem with Maryland being ranked higher, but I can see it either way.

Well, they did beat you 2 out of 3 times. And they were 1 point away from beating a great UConn team and making it to the final.

Right -- I think the point with that was that dook played UConn a lot closer than Tech did. The justification, right or not, is that dook would've gotten through to the final if they'd played on Tech's side of the bracket. I'm not saying that's necessarily true, but that's what the voters are thinking.

I agree with JD (and no, it's not because I loooove Duke). It's amazing to think we only lost by one point because UConn looked invincible at times...it kinda makes the loss by one point even harder to take. I think the reason Duke got #2 was because we did do better against UConn...not saying it's necessarily right, but I think that is the voters' mindset.

BTW: Anyone else missing college basketball as much as I am right now. :( Freakin' baseball with their 162 games.

College baseball is where it's at! Wake's team is absolutely horrid this year, but it is a blast to go hang out at Tech's Russ Chandler Stadium & catch some rays on a Saturday afternoon while watching some top-notch hitting & pitching. And the guys are pretty cute too, Tasha...if only I were 18 years younger... 03-wink

Well Tasha, Micah Owings is one of my favorites. Can pitch well, hit the cover off the ball, and he made All ACC Academic Honor Roll last year.

all i had to watch was opening day and i remembered how much better baseball is than all other sports. March madness can't hold a candle to any of the 162 baseball games.
