I have no problem with Louisville except the fact that Kentucky is not on the Atlantic Coast. I guess we could change our name to the AAACC. The Almost All Alantic Coast Conference. <img border="0" alt="[NoNo]" title="" src="graemlins/nono.gif" />

The site is called <a href="http://www.collegebcs.com." target="_blank">www.collegebcs.com.</a> He has quite a bit of documentation showing that he uses the exact formula used with the BCS and that his stats come out dead on target with the BCS stats.

The main reason I used this ranking is because it is widely recognized, used for creating the national championship, and also gives you guys the benefit of the doubt because it uses SOS heavily.

Check that site out, it is one of my favorites. This is also the same guy who produces the exact replicas of the rpi in basketball at <a href="http://www.collegerpi.com" target="_blank">http://www.collegerpi.com</a>

His rankings and stats on that site were 34 for 34 in picking at large teams in the Field of 64 this past spring.

Impressive site. All i have to say is that now, i'm going to wait until after this upcoming season to make any judgement calls about Louisville. You've made enough good points that i'll start keeping up with how Louisville is doing. I do have to say one thing though, with your upcoming schedule Louisville should win at least 10 games during the regular season. A loss to FSU and one upset. Even that won't really impress me that much because i would say the same thing about every team in the ACC except Duke. You should be HEAVILY favored to win every game except FSU. Going by last years BCS rankings you play #22, #50 and the rest are somewhere in the 60's and beyond, well beyond. Good luck for this upcoming season but with your schedule you really shouldn't need it.

I'd be happy with 10, better with 11, and heart-failure if we knock off FSU and hang-on all season.

Louisville football will be on ESPN 6 times this year. Check us out.

If anything it will be that the ACC won't expand (doesn't want to split that money pie any further- don't blame 'em) or there are 3 other candidates who are possibly more attractive (Miami, and maybe a couple others) or that Louisville's academics haven't improved enough yet.

I doubt a name change would be necessary either...

The BigTen has 11 teams.
The BigEast isn't big, 8 football teams.
The Western Athletic Conference has a team from Louisiana.
Florida State in the Atlantic Coast conference is on the Gulf Coast.

That type of thing is so minor, it likely wouldn't make a difference. There are many more important things to consider.

I'd encourage all ACC folks to tune in to some Louisville games this year in basketball and football.

Those two sports combined last year were on National/Network/Cable TV over 20 times last year.

We've got 6 scheduled for ESPN/ESPN2 for football so far.... we are also likely going to have quite a few on TV for basketball as well.

I'd love to see an annual Rick Pitino vs. Coach K match-up. Or a Louisville vs. Maryland game. That would have the networks drooling!

The entire league benefits by this move. Every
team could offer Fla HSer's a chance to play in
their home state every year, they are in college
or twice in the same year, every other year.
It would be an edge.

UCF, can also play. They would finish anywhere
from 5th to 7th right now!

Basketball, they would use the Orlando Arena
for Home ACC games.

Baseball...They can compete there also...

Miami...is never coming into the ACC...the league
presidents have already made that quite clear.

Expansion...UCF, Louisville...which BTW is only
5 hour drive from WF...6 from GT...6 and a half
from UVA...They're closer than FSU is to the
Carolina schools.

There seem to be a number of good candidates, and the ACC has the bankroll and the prestige to get who it wants.

Virginia Tech- good football, decent basketball, rabid fan support, in "ACC country", and a natural rivalry built in.

Miami- awesome football, awesome baseball, good basketball, possible problems with getting in.

Syracuse- good football, great basketball, good fan support, great academics, hell of a long way away.

Boston College- good basketball, good football, good fan support, good name recognition, fantastic market size, also a long way away.

East Carolina- good football, basketball is just starting, in "ACC country", decent fan support, good baseball

Louisville- great basketball, great fan support, good football, good marketability, question mark on academics, outside "ACC country"

Central Florida- good football, great facilities, big school, recruiting hot-bed, good market size, question mark on basketball, good baseball.

I think you'll be suprised how much stadium design can effect the noise level, even with only 42,000 seats.

Either way, I can't wait for the game, I asked off for it last January, and will be there all day tailgating.

If you come to Louisville, be sure to check out world-famous Churchill Downs, which is less than a half mile from the stadium and houses the Kentucky Derby Museum. On the other side of the stadium about a half mile away is Six Flags Amusement and Water Park for the family, and further downtown is the Louisville Slugger Museum, Factory, and Louisville Bats baseball stadium. Also near the stadium is the Louisville Basketball Museum in Freedom Hall.

Hope to see some Nole fans in attendance. I know I'm part of a 20 person traveling party in a couple of vans going down to the Louisville-Duke game this year. We should have a good number from the Cardinal Caravan in Durham for the game this fall.

Louisville fans took over the Cincinnati game in Cincinnati this year, bought out their tickets. We brought close to 4,000 to the Illinois game through scalped tickets. We also brought 28,000 people to the Liberty Bowl in Memphis.

For a basketball school, our fans are sure catching on to this football business.

When it comes to football, just face the facts. Louisville plays nobody with the exception of 1 or 2 real teams per year. If you guys did play a decent schedule then you wouldn't have that 10 win season you're talking about. As far as BCS...go to a real website like cnnsi.com and pull that up and post it just for me. Also who are your NFL pro-bowlers and these future stars that I've never heard about? I just had to make those comments after reading what you posted.

S Anthony Floyd was a Walter Camp All-American as a sophomore with 11 interceptions, he is a pre-season 2nd and 3rd team All-American on several publications.

S Curry Burns was recently listed as the 3rd best
defensive backfield player in the nation by the Sporting News.

Louisville's DeWayne White is a junior DE who is a pre-season All-American through NationalChamps.net, Sporting News, and Athlon.

DT Bobby Leffew was a freshman All-American, was named to the All-Conference team as a freshman, and is a pre-season All-Conference player as a sophomore.

Louisville TE Rhonnie Ghent is a two-time all-conference player returning for his senior year, he is a 2nd and 3rd team all-american on some sites, and a candidate for a couple post-season awards.

Louisville Dave Ragone is regarded as one of the best pro QB prospects in the nation. He is
6'4" 240 pounds, runs a 4.6 forty, and has a cannon for an arm. ESPN wrote an article recently talking about super-sized QB NFL prospects, and the focus was on Dave Ragone and Byron Leftwich from Marshall.

I'd encourage you to watch Louisville one of the 6 or 7 times we ae on ESPN or ESPN 2 this year.

What was that site you mentioned? Oh yeah... CNNSI... they have Louisville ranked #20.

It's weird though, I see FSU at #5 in their poll, NC State at #23, but I don't see Clemson or any other ACC schools. Its likely a mistake.

UofLSig, I dont know what your thinking about in terms of noise level when you mention those stadiums compared to Papa Johns. Here is something that should help you & Kurt Kittner. The current capacity of stadiums is as follows..

Penn State 106,537
Ohio State 101,568
Wisconsin 76,129 smallest out of the 4, yet still larger then Papa Johns
Teams FSU will play this year that have loud stadiums..

I'm pretty sure that these three made the past pro bowl but can't remember if there were any others. The rest are some of the better ex Clemson players some of which have played in a pro bowl and others who haven't but still might be recognizable.

You made my point by listing the massive capacities of those stadiums. That was my point, those stadium are double the size of Louisville's and our crowd is louder on the field.

I doubt it will phase FSU very much like you said. I just can't wait.

It'll be great having two top 15 teams going head to head on ESPN in our stadium.

Florida State is going to crush Louisville in football right in your small (loud?) stadium. They'll show you how a real top 15 team plays. As for Clemson not being ranked compared to your team, we had totally different schedules, ours was just a little harder (lol). Also about your stats of Louisvilles conference 2nd ans 3rd team players.. they'd be walk ons over in the ACC.
