Dicky V was interviewing Danny at the Duke game today. Ainge commented that this was the first time he had ever been to Cameron. Dickie asked him what he thought of the students and how it effects visiting teams. He said it didn't effect the visting teams as much as most think but it definately effects the referees. An unbiased opinion if there ever was one.

Wonder why none of the Duke fans have echo'd their thoughts on the comment.

This quote is coming from a guy who's been to Cameron once. Aska couple of players what they think and then maybe their comments will hold some water.

How many times do you need. Here is a guy who played and coached in the NBA. I think he has a fairly good idea about things.

hey, if we legally get more calls because our fans are that rowdy... we are succeeding. Nothing wrong with legally pressuring the refs.

No, nate. That would be called poor officiating...officiating without nads...not following the rules, which in turn means illegal officiating.

No official worth his salt should allow himself to be swayed by the crowd. There are rules for a reason and if an official does not follow them or does not call a game correctly, then he should first be disciplined & if his calling does not improve, then his services should be terminated, just like in normal job situations.

The ACC officiating crews have become the laughing stock of college basketball. We have officials calling our games who are no longer allowed to call games in the SEC or Big 10. There is a reason for that. And their relationships with certain coaches & higher ups in the ACC main office should be investigated and all parties censured accordingly.

It really has become an absurd situation. Go to dook an know you are at a distinct disadvantage because of the refs. Common knowledge among intelligent basketball fans.

I'm not a duke supporter to say the least (in fact I despise them). But, what do you expect the fans to do? Its not their fault the referees are gutless cowards. We'd all try and get calls if we could, wouldn't we? I'm sure some will say no, but I would.

Heck, when you get 3/4 of a National Semi Final crowd booing the refs, there must be something to it.

Well this all assumes that the official knows that he is being swayed by the crowd. I do think that officials are subconsciously swayed by home team's fans regardless of whether it is at Duke, or UNC, or Wake, or State or wherever. I also think that the ACC refs suck.

Roy does the same crap as K does... Doh! did it... Every successful coach gets his word in with the refs. If the ref doesn't like it, T him up.
