Not too bad for my first crack at fantasy baseball. For most the year though, this league consisted of techfan and 4 dwarves. He just ran away with it.

I would like to think the following people, without which my penultimate finish would not be possible:
1. Mike Lowell, for getting injured... getting healthy again for a few weeks... and then getting injured again. It wasn't the same without you on my bench for the last month or so of the season.
2. Preston Wilson, for stinking up the joint on my team in the second half of last season -- and starting to do that again this year -- only to tear it up after I traded him.
3. Alfonso Soriano. You were rated the #1 player going into the season. Why then were you ranked over #500 for one month there in the middle? Been hanging out too much with Derek and George in those Visa commercials?
4. Aaron Boone. Yes, I was thrilled when you were traded to the Yankees and gave me the third offensive player from that team. It was great watching your offensive production spiral down to uncharted depths, along with the rest of the Yankees on my roster.
5. Jorge Posada. The #1-rated catcher going into the season struggled (along with Soriano and Boone) while on my team, but suddenly rediscovered himself after I dropped him from my team. What's up with that?
6. Ichiro. What happend, dude? I think he had stretches where he went something like 0-19. That's bad. :bang:
7. Jim Edmonds. Now he really spent all season on my bench. :chair::cry:
The pitchers actually stayed healthy (except for Smoltzie) and did a decent job for me. How dare they!

Ha! I may have ended up with Preston Wilson & Jorge Posada, but I still ended up dead last. :bang:
Many thanks to Bret Boone for forgeting how to hit in the 2nd half, Marcus Giles for returning to a normal hitting pattern, Jim Thome for having career performances whenever I had him on the bench, Todd Helton for following Bret Boone's lead, former pitching aces for deciding to get old and lose their form while on my roster (Paging Tom Glavine & David Wells), and overall to my batters for not looking to get walked and my pitchers for walking every blasted hitter who wasn't on my roster.

Did you think of this thread when he hit that long ball last night?

My friend & I spent the evening at the game lamenting over each player who had doomed our respective fantasy baseball teams... over the course of the season, he had had various members of the Cubs (being the lifelong fan that he is) and like Marcus & others did for me, they either tanked once he picked them up, or got hot as soon as he'd ditched them.
We'll see which of our former fantasy players gets hot at tonight's game... :D Hopefully I'm not jinxing the Braves by attending...

Smoltzie would've blown a save, but gotten me a win last night.

Don't even get me started about Hampton... From the way he began, I didn't think he was gonna make it out of the 1st inning. His ERA & numerous walks would have killed my ratios once again...
