Just in light of all that's been going on with the issue of homosexuality lately, a poll. I know we have many different people on this board, with many different political background, so I'm just interested to see how you all look at this.

*If this topic has already been done a million times, I do apologize*

My dictionary...and my Bible says marriage is a union between a man and a woman.

If homosexuals want to live together, I sure as hell won't stop 'em. However, any 'civil union' between homosexuals won't be recognized by me.

I voted yes. The existance of a "gay marriage" out there would have no impact, and certainly no harm, on my personal life or my heterosexual relationship whatsoever. I could care less if there are some same-sex couples out there who consider each other spouses. Besides, I think the greater mockery to marriage are those couples (gay or not) who wed for something other than love, such as money, attention, or peer pressure. Hollywood couples and reality-show engagements come to mind.

Off the top of the head...The answer would be: NO!

From a religious Standpoint the answer is: NO!

From a Constitutional Standpoint the answer would have
to be: YES!

They have "rights" also.

This may be one of those things...that the majority
doesn't like...cannot stand...and believe's to be "sick"
yet something that we must accept.

You know...we are all a part of the "Least Exclusive
Club in the World"...yet the one with the highest dues:

The United States of America!

It's sort of like a person burning the American Flag.
I always liked what the Late Bob Hope said..."I don't
care if they burn it...just as long as they are wearing it
when they burn it!"

But the FACT really is: The Twit that burns it...does so
in protest of this country. Yet, in FACT, what he is
actually doing is demonstrating what a GREAT country
we have. "Cause he has the right to do it!

Our Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, Airmen, don't fight for
the 240 million Americans who support them...they
fight for the 10 million who demonstrate against them.

They don't fight for the 240 million who wave the flag,
they fight for the 10 million that would burn it.

They do that because we are a country "Of the people,
by the people and for the people!" (And that means
all the people) And if we don't fight for ALL the People,
then why fight at all.

Nah...I don't like it...Can't stand it...and think it is sick...
but they have that right...

If they gain the right...I bet their will be a run on marriage
icenses in Gainesville...Home of the GAYTORS!

I will be interested in watching these "couples" get divorced.

Let's see...The ****** guys...The judge will award each
of them NOTHING!

The ****** Gals...The judge will award each of them
EVERYTHING!

Ought to be interesting.

btw...I can use the term "******"...'Cause I have rights,
also. Called..."Freedom of Speech!" and it doen't
infringe on anyone else's rights.

I say let them get married. They are people and they have the same rights as we do. Marriage is a union of two people that love each other, and if two men or two women love each other enough, let them get married. No harm will come of legal gay marriage.

Unprotected sex and multiple partners. I think rape may also be a problem and poor sanitation.

Nobody seems to recognize that AIDS is a totally preventable disease, unlike cancer. you can't balme gay people because there are morons out there who make themselves easily accessible to AIDS. Let them get married. What they do is very different, but it's their life. Kids being born out of wedlock does much more harm than gay marriages ever could.

Dont you mean unsafe sex, sharing needles, infected blood transfusions, etc, are the leading cause of aids/hiv? Being gay doesnt cause, or mean that you have aids.

Average woman in some countries in Africa has seven children.

They're not all from the same guy either.

They wear llama skin on their butt, which means (by a fair assumption) they don't have a clue what a rubber is or how to use it. Bet they wouldn't like the decreased sensitivity either when they tried it, frankly.

They sure do travel a long way for Llama skin, don't they? Seeing as how they aren't indigenous to Africa.

I honestly don't think Homosexuality is a leading cause of AIDS. I do, however, believe that it is the lifestyle being led by certain people. ...and gay people do tend to live more dangerous lifestyles.

This too is why I voted yes. Along with the thought that consitutionally speaking, they should be allowed. I'll agree that religiously, most wouldn't agree, but no one's asking any church to recognize the marriage. They are in full right to deny that to anyone.

Basically, they're people just like the rest of us. No one's to say, legally speaking, who should be able to get married, IMO.
