I just got back from being in France for almost 2 weeks. I visited Paris, Cluny, Chartres, Crozon, Morgat, Camaret, Versailles, Rennes and other places... Listen, you have no clue what you are talking about when you say that French people are some of the most arrogant people in the world. PARISIANS are the most arrogant people in the world by in large. Just like people who live in NYC are very arrogant, or LA, or Chicago. It's big city life to be arrogant. Every single person we met outside of Paris was very nice, kind and educated. France is no different from the US. There are many arrogant people (big cities and for the US, RebelKev) and there are tons of people who aren't, suburbs and rural areas.

Leave it to you to stereotype an entire country by it's capital.

I've been to france and will never go back for obvious reasons. When i was there i didn't think they were half as nice as Italians. There's a different type of arrogance in NY then in France. In NY people could care less about each other, mainly because there are many diffrent ethnic groups there, and New Yorkers have been hardened by liberal government. I don't think the French like Americans at all.

Well Whoopdy dooo, he goes to France for 2 weeks and is AUTOMATICALLY an expert on France. Go sell crazy somewhere else kid....we're all stocked up.

Tell me, did you go over there and bash the US like you do here? If so, there's no wonder why they accepted you with open arms.

You should have stayed in that wuss country.

Parisians don't like Americans... however... everyone outside of Paris we met were great. They didn't care if we were American, Columbian, Fijian or German. In fact, people in Brittany and Normandy LOVE Americans because we saved their asses 60 years ago.

There you go putting words into my mouth again... I never said I was an expert... I told you about my experience... leave it to you to jump on someone instead of having a reasonable discussion.

No... I did not bash America over there. I don't hate our country by any means... I think there are some great things about our country... and I disagree with some of our political foreign policy moves recently. In fact, I defended America to one ****** in Paris... he was on the double decker tour bus with us and we were passing a US building, possibly the embassy... and he threw his cup off the bus and said... "Damn good for nothing country". I looked at him and said "That good for nothing country has saved your ****** more than once... That good for nothing country has one of the best economies in the world and that good for nothing country has the largest military in the world and at the drop of a hat your ****** could be gone if you keep up that attitude." And he said "Why don't you kick my ****** then?" and I just laughed him off... in a way, he kinda reminded me of you, RebelKev!

France is a liberal paradise. They hate Americans, they do abosolutley nothing to fight terrorism, they sit around and try to relate to the enemy, and they are the biggest hypocrits.

Hell... the French government is pretty ******... most French people dislike Chirac, and his administration... but LePen... who it would be if not Chirac, would be even worse, so whatever.

And French people aren't nearly as liberal as you hear... Thomas, have you ever been to France? Many people we met were "American conservatives"... obviously they don't use the term conservative... but their political philosophy is american conservative.

.....and I bow to you, oh authority of the French Culture. 04-bow 04-bow 04-bow

Let's see:

Quote:I just got back from being in France for almost 2 weeks. I visited Paris, Cluny, Chartres, Crozon, Morgat, Camaret, Versailles, Rennes and other places

Hmm, that's 8 places named, + "Others", and you have been there for "Almost two weeks". We'll just assume about 12 days. With 8 places named divided into 12 days, hmm, how is it that you think you can automatically "define" the mood of the French OR Parisians? With JUST the named places and my assumption of 12 days, you spent a day and a half at each place. However, you had travel time so that probably brings it down to about 8 hours getting to "know" the area, bear in mind, staying at the Porta DeLeon Hotel doesn't educate you in the actual culture....you have to actually get out into the cities.

Nah, I think I'll just rely on their own damn polls, taken and given BY the French people, rather than a 16 Y/O kid that spent less than 2 days at the places he mentioned.
