I believe this is going too far on Robertson's part. I've never been a big fan of the Christian Coalition, and this is one reason why.

Personally, I believe government does need to play a role concerning moral and ethical matters. Where I differ from most on the extreme right is where the limit should be. I don't want someone telling me what I can and can't do in my bedroom, unless it's a really hot girl telling me things I want to do :drink: . That's why, even though as a Christian I consider homosexuality to be disgusting and wrong, I agreed with the Texas sodomy law being abolished by the Court.

Now bigolhawg, show me something that proves you aren't radical far-left, thank you

"We ask for miracles in regard to the Supreme Court," Robertson said on the Christian Broadcasting Network's "The 700 Club."

Robertson has launched a 21-day "prayer offensive" directed at the Supreme Court in the wake of its 6-3 June vote that decriminalized sodomy. Robertson said in a letter on the CBN Web site that the ruling "has opened the door to homosexual marriage, bigamy, legalized prostitution and even incest."

The same letter targets three justices in particular: "One justice is 83-years-old, another has cancer and another has a heart condition. Would it not be possible for God to put it in the minds of these three judges that the time has come to retire?"

Judging from the descriptions, Robertson was referring to Justice John Paul Stevens, who was born in 1920, and Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who had colon cancer surgery in 1999. The identity of the third justice was unclear

I have problems with the way our nation allows illegal immigrants pour over the borders with no restrictions. As you know, c_t_h, living in Arkansas is becoming more and more like living in Latin America. It's not that Hispanics shouldnt be allowed to come to our nation, but quotas should be enforced, and illegal immigrants should be sent back to where they came from and face serious consequences for their crime. Its putting a huge strain on Arkansas school districts to provide English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for these illegal immigrants and this money should be freed up for improving college prep work. I read a few weeks ago that more than half of Arkansas students attending college have to take remedial courses. The state's two and four year colleges are truly becoming extended high schools.

So, immigration is a subject where I dont take a far left standpoint. In fact, I wouldnt mind a freeze on immigration for awhile until we can solve the problems.

I also like to hear that you dont support the Robertson "prayer offensive." I know his official rhetoric is that he wants justices to step down, but its painfully close to praying for these justices to die so conservatives can take their place.

If the government plays a role in ethical matters, it should be extremely limited, because ethics and morals are something EVERY PERSON holds different. What person A considers unethical, person B doesn't.

True...where I stand is that natural crimes such as murder, rape, etc. should be punished to the fullest extent of the law... government, which creates laws, should and does make that ethical approach.

But for most crimes... I don't think we need more laws, we just need to be tougher on the laws we HAVE. More legislation won't help. And also, make prisons adequate to live, but that's it. I hear of prisons having extensive libraries and Internet access and what not, and schools in rural areas that don't have any of that. That to me is a problem. Keep prisons from being inhumane, but they deserve no special privileges. They're in prison; they should lose their rights to anything but the minimum. Give the computers and libraries to schools, and you've saved taxpayer $$ and put it in a better place. The 'good behavior' crap needs to end too. Prisoners should be EXPECTED to behave.
