OK, I just woke up and wanted to get started on this challenge. How do I join? I entered my email and it does not recognize it. Is there an email we need to use? Maybe after I drink my coffee I can get it. >

be sure you're on the register page and not the "view stats" page.

You download the software ... then run it

It will ask if you want to register or login.

If you register -- rock on -- you can start processing.

You will get an e-mail to the acct you registered with containing a password to modify your profile etc on SETI@Home

GTS: I went through & deleted everything related to my initial stab at installing the SETI software & while I don't get that weird non-SETI program trying to load anymore, every time I've tried to download, I get the same 2 error messages relating to the install, so I'm giving up. I don't know if it's a bug on their end with their Windows version or if it is solely on my end, but I'm tired of trying to make this work.

No bonus for me... :(

Probably a Windows glitch -- go here to check for updates for your OS:

Ran the updates. Still same messages.

Thanks for the link though. The updates to IE should clear up some other issues I'd been having.

Lucy -- If you would like, and you're on a broadband connection, we could have a Netmeeting conference and I could install it myself via remote desktop control.

That is a possibility. I'm on a cable modem with Comcast High Speed Internet at home.

I have a commitment after work, so I won't be home till close to 10 tonight. I'll touch base then.

Thanks for being patient with my struggles... :D
