Either way with Miami the ACC will now be consistently mentioned in the same breath as the Pac 10, SEC, Big 10 and Big 12, which are basically the four toughest FB conferences year in and year out. In baseball the ACC will now be a perenial top 3 conf as well.

I just wanted to add what my proposed cross-divisional rivals would be for each team in the ACC (I just posted these on the UNC forum).

The divisions would be:

North
UNC
dook
Maryland
Virginia
Syracuse
BC (or VPI)

South
Wake
NC State
Clemson
Georgia Tech
FSU
Miami

And the designated "rivals" for each team could be:

UNC -- Wake, NC State
dook -- Wake, NC State
Wake -- UNC, dook
NC State -- UNC, dook

Miami -- Syracuse, BC
FSU -- Syracuse, BC
Syracuse -- Miami, FSU
BC -- Miami, FSU

Maryland -- Clemson, Georgia Tech
Virginia -- Clemson, Georgia Tech
Clemson -- Maryland, Virginia
Georgia Tech -- Maryland, Virginia

That would keep some old rivalries alive... and start some new ones for a few teams.

 Expansion= :john:

JD's setup is pretty interesting. I would like Maryland in the same division as Duke- I want to play them twice a year (hoops). As for the other teams I'd like us to be with, UNC, UVA, and Syracuse (if they join) are my personal preferences. If they split up FSU and Miami, I would want FSU since they currently seem more beatable than UM.
