When all else fails, buy a shortwave radio. :D

I used to be really hooked on shortwave, but I only listen to it sporadically now. With a good receiver under $200, you can listen to wide range of programs (many beamed to North America in English) from all sorts of countries. This site is one of many that enables you to select various SW programs by the topic you are looking for.

He's wrong. Broadcasters are already so profitable. With more market influence, and more profit, they could easily skuttle Rush if they chose to for ideological reasons.

I've covered this.

AM????? Liberals have YET to offer a viable counter to Rush, Hannity, OR Boortz. The people have chosen. If they didn't want them on, they wouldn't be on. I guess I'm going to have to keep saying that to get it throught to you.....not likely. If you think you can have a profitable talk radio show without these guys, think again. Why don't you ask Mike Malloy: http://www.mikemalloy.com or Peter Werbe, http://www.peterwerbe.com/ They have failed.

Turn the radio off.I think your real problem is that it can work both ways and maybe that's what you think is going on now.

Who dominated AM radio before Rush? TV before Fox? you do have alternatives.........CD's, and soon, someone will come along and start up a little radio station and if they are good enough, they can work to be nationally syndicated. Damn, seems like that happened before, .....hmmm........let me see......think Kevin, think, ......hmm....................................OH YEAH!!!! It was done by RUSH!

People don't start up radio stations so much as they buy them.

Want to start a radio station in New York City? Better buy one. The spectrum is gone.

You haven't debated me. Like I said, Rush didn't start with 20 million listeners, he started at one local station in CA. He worked his way up by saying something the CONSUMER WANTED!!!!! This is STILL Capitalist America.

Nothing I've said in this thread has the least bit to do with Rush Limbaugh. The only time I've mentioned him is as an example of a radio host corporations could choose to take away -- if they get such dominance over the market that they to no longer need to respond to consumer desires.

Nothing I've written has anything to do with that big fat idiot.

Rush never had dominance when he started and this IS about broadcast.

The People have Spoken.
