Rt1 and I want to finish our basement and I'm strongly leaning towards trying to accomplish some of this on our own. Outside of having the electrical put in.. which I'm not sure I want Rt1 working around, even though his life insurance is paid up.. how hard is the rest really? I hear about all these people that finish their own basement, but we've never done much more than fix an hole in a wall with some spackle. Are we fools to attempt to conquer this on alone? Anyone out there locally that knows what they're doing and wants to spend a few weekends with us and a lot of beer and food and help us?
Just thought I'd get some advice.

Depends on what you want to do. If you have block walls and want to add sheet rock it can be fairly easy, if you find someone with some experience. Taping sheet rock is an art. If you use paneling, you can do this yourself fairly easily. Your best friend will be the trim you add on the back end. As far as the floor, have someone else do that. Good luck!
