Either way, Duke has been the top team for the past 5 years however you slice it. And you have to admit to that.

I can admit that, but I'm with JD...that doesn't make a dynasty.

I'm not a believer in assigning ultimate titles to any group. Too artificial. But if I must, UCLA in the 1970s was a dynasty. I really can't think of many others. There are great programs who put together consecutive seasons of top records, but in all of these, they have proven to be beatable when it comes down to tournament play.

So tell me this...

If you had to pick 1 dynasty right now, who would it be?

I don't think any program is currently at "dynasty" status.

Bingo....

Duke is moreso a "dynasty" than anyone in men's basketball right now, but there is no true dynasty out there these days.

And they certainly aren't a dynasty in women's basketball -- not with UConn out there (and Tennessee would come in second).

Who won the NCAA tournament in 2002, nate? Hint: it wasn't the team in blue.

Maryland did, but the last AP poll is before the NCAA tournament.

Once again, you are trying to ignore tournament play. So in football, would you say that the final "regular season" AP poll carries more weight than the one after the Fiesta Bowl which placed OSU at #1?

And it was just that: a poll. There's a reason we have a tournament in college basketball to decide the best team. It's so they can prove it on the court and not in the minds of pollsters....

Is this a prelude to tonight's Wake-dook game?
