Notre Dame already knocked off #10 Marquette and #7 Maryland this week. They just upset #2 Texas to win the BB&T Classic. They are easily a top 15 team right now.

That win over Texas prevents what would have been a #1 vs #2 matchup next Saturday (Arizona vs Texas).

Unranked UNC beat one ranked team and jumped into the top 12.

Unranked ND just beat three highly ranked teams in a row.

Anyone want to take any bets on ND not jumping up to 12 in the polls?

We beat Kansas which was #2, a Stanford team that was coming off wins over two top teams: Xavier and Florida, and we beat Rutgers.

In my mind those are 3 very solid wins. However, even as a die hard Tar Heel fan, I don't think we were the 12th best team in the country.

As you all know, Notre Dame to me is like Arizona to LK. Notre Dame is my second favorite school. And what I have seen from Notre Dame has been extremely impressive. Their point guard, Chris Thomas, is exceptional. He knows how to do it all, and he is only a sophomore! Meanwhile, freshmen Torin Francis (oh how I wish he had chosen UNC!) has been performed extremely well. The other night Francis went 8-8 from the field, grabbed a handful of rebounds, and finished with 20 points! Notre Dame's veterans have also been solid. I like what Mike Brey is doing with this ball club, and I think they have the players and the coach to be one of the most dangerous teams in the country.

Now to discuss rankings. First of all, I don't think my Tar Heels should have jumped so high in the polls. Top 20 yes, Top 15 I don't know. You could say that is because we are Carolina, and yes it probably is, I won't argue that because what is wrong with it? Notre Dame has beaten 3 top 10 teams this week and has showed that they are one of the elite teams in the country. Top 20 yes, Top 15 I think so, but I don't know if the voters do.

What we have to understand is that both UNC and ND are very good ball clubs with the capability of beating anyone in the country when they are playing good basketball. Although people make the rankings out to be something they don't mean $HIT right now. As long as my Tar Heels are winning games I will be happy. It will be the wins that get my team in to the tournament more so than our ranking.

Oh I am sure he does. :girl:

Whew...need to control the hormones. But seriously, Notre Dame is good. It's not really surprising to see them doing this well. I thought they should have been ranked in the first place.
