Yes

The BCS has no way of knowing which team is better unless the teams face each other...A playoff would give teams like FSU, Oregon, Bowling Green, Tennessee, Washington State, and other teams from 10-20 in the polls to have a shot at the championship, despite an early loss that came down to the last play...
