If it wasn't meant to be derogatory we wouldn't twist the name Duke around into Dook.

I am certainly not a Terp fan.

Like I said, this is the Verbal Assault forum and terms such as Dookie and Twerp are not only allowed but encouraged. I am sure you would appreciate a sanitized site where nothing bad is ever said about Duke or none of us are condescending towards Dookies such as yourself. The second you decided to jump on the Dook bandwagon you subjected yourself to condescending monikers such as Dookie. You made your bed and you get to sleep in it. Enjoy!

First of all, I was born a Dukie. I never jumped on the Duke bandwagon. I was one of Duke's most avid supporters in 95.

ACC POY is for ACC play. NCAA POY is for the whole season play. Forte and Battier shared ACC POY last year, and Forte didn't even get a singled NCAA POY trophy. J-Will, not an ACC POY, got the NABC NPOY award.

Who do you trust more to determine who had a better season: the national writers who or the ones localized in your region who vote for conference POY and all-ACC?

No doubt in my mind that JWon't will be crowned national player of the year this season simpl,y because he was handed the award on a platter to start the season. On a national level it's a popularity contest while on the conference level it is often more reflective of the just completed season.

On the conference level, it's more reflected on who UNC biased people feel. Nationally, it is more of a popularity thing, and neither are objectively chosen.

I can't believe a dookie just referenced the UNC boas in this conference. The irony of your naivete is rather amusing.

If you don't think that UNC biased people run this conference, I don't know what to tell you.

BTW, I know, I am so unfortunate to be a Dukie. You know, 9 FFs and 3 NCs in my 16 years of life is pretty bad compared to all of the other ACC schools accomplishments since then.

Son, the media in the conference is biased towards both Duke and UNC. The fact that your school benefits from this certainly means you will not be able to recognize this. Being blind to the reality around you is a common symptom of dookitis.

It's funny that you should say that about "dukitis". Duke fans are generally known as being very objective compared to UNC fans, MD fans and Kentucky fans. Those are 4 of the biggest fan bases out there.

Only in your twisted dookie world could you possibly consider Dook fans to be objective. Your demonstrated inability to comprehend anything outside of Duke basketball thus far has led my to believe you are anything but objective.

Now, go put on your Chrissy Laettner jersey and go to bed before you embarrass yourself anymore.

BTW - I am not a Maryland fan.

Terpy - You are witnessing the Dookie Reality Distortion Field. Don't look directly into the light and you will be OK.

"Hell of a lot older than you"

What an argument! I guess my senile 92 year old grandfather who swears he is the president of the USA is a lot smarter than Bill Gates.

"Hell of a lot smarter than you"
I would sure hope so if you are that old. But, the way you go about yourself when posting doesn't help your cause.

My parents are both Duke alum. My dad is now the Dean of Duke Divinity School and my mom works there. My grandfather was also the Dean and my grandmother is an Iron Duke. I was born in the middle of an ACC game that Duke played in and won. I guess that pretty much denies your claim that I am not a "true Dukie".

"Hostile environment"
Huh? That is nothing to be proud of. Your fans throw bottles and other objects at Duke player's parents? That has to be one of the most moronic, ignorant, immature things ever. If you want to claim that kind of hostile environment, be my guess.

I'll claim the classy (compared to MD), clever Duke hostility anyday.

(REAL CLASSY PEOPLE) And, correct me if I am wrong, but hasn't there been a few instances of "hostility" at Cameron the past few seasons??? (Center Court Logo ring a bell?)

Why do you think so few teams have won at Cole this past decade? It's called "A HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT!!!" The only teams to win at Cole since 1989 have all been ACC teams that are used to coming into Cole and knew what would greet them when they came out of the tunnel.

I never said that JWill never jacks threes late in the game, he sometimes does. Someone's argument was that he does it to pad his stats, when in reality, his stats don't go up as much as they go down. Juan Dixon does the same thing, it's not just JWill.
