David Padgett (6-9/210 lb.)one of the top centers in the class of 2003, is considering 4 schools: UNC, Kansas, Arizona, ans Stanford.

He will be visiting UNC this weekend. Matt Doherty and his hard-working staff has been recruiting Padgett VERY hard all summer. The Tar Heels definetly want a proven highschool bigman to add to their frontcourt and would love to have Padgett.Padgett is very excited about his UNC visit.

More news on Padgett to follow. He is expected to make a committment this fall.

Did you read anything in my post? I don't care what some dumb sports writer thinks. UNC is in the race for Padgett just as much as anyone is. If we weren't, than why would he be visiting and why would he be so excited about it?

BTW, just saw Padgett today at the football game, and he got a warm welcome from the UNC fans. A few even had signs that said "We Want Padgett".

They (UNC) have a legit shot at both (Butch and Padgett). It's my belief, and has been all along, that they had a better chance with Butch. However, then Matt Doherty trailed Padgett to the end of the earth this summer and that helped UNC.
