Weak. Weak. Weak.

What a crock. No new material. No new documentaries (except the lame 10 min TT's thing). Menus are lame...I'm disappointed. It's quite obvious they want you to buy the "special edition" ... $$ ...

I rented the DVD, and I'm waiting to buy it until the 4 disc set comes out. They are DEFINITELY trying to get people to buy the DVD twice. Its good marketing!!!!!!!

And...never again call FOTR weak. You may not like all the extras, but the actual movie is still on there, and that is not weak!!!!!!!

I, too, am waiting until November to buy the four-disc set. I am a huge fan, but not to the point that I must buy both versions of the DVD. Besides, I don't even own a DVD player yet (although I just order one from Crutchfield this morning!) I thought they made it very clear that the extra 30 minutes of footage was not on this version. And, the documentaries included are all the ones that have previously been shown on TV and they have been advertised as being so.

Sorry you're disappointed p5mmr9.

I bought the dvd and I'm quite glad that I did, because now I get to enjoy it at home until the special edition comes out. I personally enjoyed the featurettes and the other behind the scenes footage from TTT and FOTR. Besides, if you broke the bank making your movie, wouldn't you want a little money back on it anyway? In my opinion, you can't pay enough for this kind of entertainment.
